What happens when you leave your pet at the vets?

We know it’s a worrying time when you leave your pet with us for the day to have a procedure so we thought we could show you what happens once you leave

Please meet Rover! Yesterday Rover, the lovely Labrador, was with us for his operation. We know it’s a worrying time when you leave your pet with us for the day to have a procedure so we (and Rover) thought we could show you what happens once you leave

Rover being admitted
Admissions involving a few questions
Health check to make sure he's fit and well
Settling into his kennel while he waits a little while for his pre-medication to kick in and feel a little sleepy
dog given vaccination
Intravenous catheter prior to his anaesthetic
Once under anaesthetic, we clip and clean the area ready for surgery
Sterile surgical kit, drapes and gloves
Draped prior to starting the procedure
Maintained on anaesthetic gas and monitored throughout
stitches
All done! These stitches will be removed in 10-14 days
dog sleeping
Recovering afterwards
A little light meal which Rover was very excited about!
waiting to go home
Ready for home with his shirt to prevent him interfering with the wound
