According to DEFRA there are somewhere between 600,000 and 1,000,000 horses in the UK and here at McKinneys Vets, we are able to help you deal with all equine veterinary & health matters 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We provide all the basic services for local horse owners throughout our practice area.
Vaccinations
A simple step to help against Tetanus and Equine Influenza.
Lameness
Lameness is a term that covers a range of conditions which are stopping the horse from traveling in its usual sound manner on its four feet. We can help with the investigation and subsequent treatment.
Respiratory
A horse has an impressive respiratory system, we can help with the treatment of any respiratory complaint.
Emergency
We are on call to help with the service of injuries, wounds, colic and allergies.
Referral / Second Opinions
We have a great working relationship with various regional specialist equine practices and for more complicated cases can call on their expertise.
Worming Advice
We can work on faecal worm egg counts and supply appropriate anthelmintics.
Dental
Regular checks, rasping, and advice can be provided.
Laboratory Services
In-house facilities allow us to work with and investigate even the most difficult of cases running blood works to help investigate health status as required.
Our clients have access to 24-hour emergency consultations and treatment.
